Welcome to Les Mariniers, a gem nestled in the heart of Douelle, France. Situated at 17 Rue de l'Eglise, this charming restaurant offers a delightful fusion of French cuisine, making it a must-visit if you’re in the area. Whether you dine indoors in the cozy ambiance or take advantage of the delightful outdoor seating overlooking the steps, you’ll find a warm and inviting atmosphere that enhances your culinary experience.

Les Mariniers specializes in traditional French fare, and patrons rave about its stand-out dishes. Imagine sinking your teeth into slow-cooked veal confit, a dish that resonates with the skillful hands of the chef, tender and rich in flavor. As one of our guests, Caroline Oliver, remarked, it’s nothing short of beautiful. The menu offers a thoughtful selection, catering to different tastes; you can also expect to find specialties such as perfectly cooked fish, a skill that Andy C noted worth traveling for—even if you encounter a grumpy waiter! Perhaps it’s the tantalizing aroma of freshly baked bread that will greet you first, offering a comforting start to your meal, as highlighted by Les Dunning.

Many patrons appreciate the delightful pairing of dishes with the restaurant’s generous carafes of house red wine, making your meal not just a dining experience, but a celebration of local flavors and culinary craftsmanship. The regional salad, featuring tasty components like foie gras, has also garnered praise for its freshness and appeal, showcasing the essence of French cuisine in every bite.

The atmosphere is as appealing as the food with its quaint, rustic charm that envelops you from the moment you step in. The attentive staff adds to this ambiance, with reviews noting the helpful and friendly nature of the service—perfect for easing you into French dining culture. As Daviel Michels puts it, the delicious food set against a beautiful atmosphere makes every visit memorable.

Whether you are stopping by after a leisurely stroll along the river or looking to indulge in an exquisite dining experience that captures the heart of France, Les Mariniers is ready to welcome you. This is more than just a meal; it’s an experience to savor. So come and relish the taste of tradition and warmth at Les Mariniers—your palate will thank you!

Menu in English and French. Quite a choice of options in addition to the standard lunch menu. I took a regional salad, including foie gras, which was excellent. The carafe of red was generous and quite pleasant. Excellent fresh bread.

We were welcomed with a complimentary Kir. We dined in the garden. Food and wine was delicious and not expensive. Absolutely charming hosts.

Lovely French restaurant with ample space for diners and hearty quality national food (foie gras, duck, beef steak, sea food, etc.). Value for money is very good and locally produced wine is served.
